There are several categories such as Action & Adventure, Drama, Romance and Comedy. The concept is that you look over the list of available movies, select one, and then pay for the rental via Google Checkout [you do know that Google owns YouTube, right?] I understand they want you to use their service, but it would have been nice to have the option to use PayPal.
You do have to have a YouTube account to be able to take advantage of this feature. When you pick a video for the first time, you'll be informed that you need to upgrade your account to include a payment method [aka Google Checkout]. It's similar to PayPal in that you can use one of your credit or debit cards as your payment method. Once you've completed this process, you'll be welcomed into the Google Checkout family, and redirected back to the video you want to rent.
The length of time you can rent the video for is determined by the filmmaker. It could be as short as 24 to 48 hours, or possibly 30 to 60 days. There's a video that I'm going to check out by Mark Joyner, considered the creator of the e-book and one of the most successful Internet marketers ever. It's part of a series of videos being offered by Joel Comm called "The Secret Classroom". Depending on how this one is, I may take the plunge and purchase the series. I will let you know how the rental experience goes.
Until later, head to YouTube and get your video fix on!
